I've wanted a G3 style rifle ever since I bought my SA M1A back in 2005. It was a choice between the PTR91 and the M1A and I decided to get the "American classic". I just purchased a Century C308. I was drawn to the C308 because of two reasons - 1) it's pretty inexpensive and 2) I have a lot of extra 0.308 laying around the house. It looks like a great rifle to just plink the rounds of .308 that I don't want to run through the Ruger. The rifle has good bolt and ct gap and is a pleasure to shoot. Overall fit and finish are good. I bought another one with the cast receiver made in St. Albans, Vt about two months ago. I finally got my Century Arms C308 to the range last week and put about 60 rounds through it at 100 yards. I love the gun, it shoots great, handling and accuracy are awesome. Only thing I noticed which was a little disconcerting was that the handguard got pretty warm after about 10-20 rounds.Magazines can often be found for about $5 a pop, and furniture sets for about $20-$30. This surge in popularity, for obvious reasons, has caused a surge in the aftermarket department as well, which has only resulted in more sales and interest in these platforms.

All you need to do to use that G3 stock is get some ~100 grit sand paper and sand the little nylon washer on the recoil spring retainer so that it fits nicely in the cetme bolt.
