The 2 brands I’ve narrowed it down to are Franchi affinity 3 or the Retay Masai Mara. This will be an all purpose hunting shotgun. TIA!Both the Mossberg SA-20 and the Weatherby Element are easy to load. While perhaps unremarkable in the case of the Mossberg, many 20 gauge inertia guns are real thumb-busters, as is the case with the previously reviewed Benelli M2 and the Franchi Affinity models. The Benelli will fire anything down to 1 oz target loads in the 12 gauge and 7/8 oz in the 20 gauge with absolutely no problems. If that's what you consider "low base", then you have nothing to worry about. Beretta in general is Gas but, have had several Inertia models. Franchi is known more for Long Recoil but, they currently have Gas and Inertia models as well. Some models are offered as 2 ¾" only like the Franchi AL48. Only a few are 3 ½" models like the Benelli SBE/SBE II, Beretta Xtrema/Xtrema 2, and the Franchi 912.
